It’s often easy to look at the odds stacked against us, instead of looking for the opportunities before us. You can not only tell a lot about yourself, but did you know that you can retrain your brain to search for solutions instead of focusing on the problems. Following are a couple ways to do that:
1. Step away. – Take a 5 or 10 minute walk, give yourself a chance to breathe. Getting away, even just for a moment allows you to see more than what is right in front of you, and an opportunity to look at things from a different perspective.
2. Be aware of your thoughts. – Often we don’t notice our thinking is not on track, take time to mindfully check in with your thoughts.
3. Practice gratitude. – When we create a habit of being grateful, we find ourselves a whole lot more positive not only when we face problems, but throughout all areas of our life.
Life is not always easy but a good attitude will help you to navigate it, even when it is difficult.
